The life-long sacrifices made by many in the model search contest universe has long been the stuff of legends. For years they toil, many of them without so much as an honorable mention to show for it. One model search later, however, and they could be snatching up the grand prize, making it all worth it.
Some people who hope to become professional models actually loath the model search. They are overcome with a feeling of nausea or nervousness, not for fear of being criticized, but because they simply dislike the atmosphere and the attitudes of many participants, and show staff. Unfortunately, sometimes a model search is the best way to get noticed and further their career, so they tough it out, grinding their teeth secretly at bad jokes, poorly applied make-up, and unforgivable fashion blunders.
There are those who are professionals in the model search game, and travel around the country and the world competing in model search contests not just to pursue their career, but also for their own personal enjoyment. Oftentimes that one potential break that could make all the difference is years in the making, but a model search can lead you to discover new opportunities and resources that you wouldn't have otherwise been aware of.
